The province of Antique is comprised of different towns that have their own unique beauty reflected by a lot of attractions showcasing the rich history and culture of the province. Aside from Anini-y, Culasi, Bugasong, San Jose, Barbaza to name a few, there’s another town that offers a wide array of tourist attractions– the municipality of Laua-an.
Similar to some other rugged and varied land municipalities of Antique, Laua-an is surrounded by the beautiful landscapes with stunning mountains, lush green rice terraces and serene waterfalls. Located at the quiet place of Brgy. Capnayan, Laua- an Antique sits the beautiful mountain called Mt. Igmatongtong.
Our group planned to explore the area where the Mt. Igmatongtong located. We hired a van from Iloilo City to Laua-an, Antique approximately 3 hours of travel. We started our trek to the Brgy. Capnayan for almost 2 hours.
Then stopped over to the Brgy. Captain for the login/logout protocol. It was raining that time , so expect the trail was slippery and muddy.
We again resumed our brief trek to the summit of Mt. Igmatongtong. It was very thrilling because some trails were not visible on our way. People barely go to the area to hike on that time.
Getting there is half of the fun and adventure. Finding those beautiful spots along the way, and hanging out a while where it feels best. There are a lot of inviting things on the trail. You can see the cascading watertfalls in the area. The lush mountains, rice fields and of course the majestic rice terraces.
Finally, we were able to reach the summit of Mt. Igmatongtong with a lot of fun and exciting trails.
Let these pictures speaks for itself.
